OBJECTIVE TWO
The AQUAPHOENIX objectives reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the project. Our mission is to make a lasting impact on circular aquaculture technology, industry, science, policy, and communication.
The second project objective is to lay the foundation for and create an integrated, reliable regional framework for monitoring and budgeting the emission of Nitrogen and Phosphorus (N+P). This will give increased visibility to the status of regional emissions. Objective 2 is closely related to Objective 1 (the development of novel technologies for collecting aquaculture waste), given the high levels of N+P contained in aquaculture waste. By developing and integrating environmental monitoring systems, AQUAPHOENIX partners will streamline a process for measuring the restorative impact of sludge removal on marine ecosystems over time.
