WELCOME

AQUAPHOENIX enters our second year

The close of 2025 saw our project being showcased as a case study for sustainable food production and resource management on a global scale, from the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Belém, Brazil, to the United Nations Environment Assembly in Nairobi, Kenya. At the same time, our partners in industry, science, and technology have been hard at work preparing novel technologies for collecting aquaculture waste and working to understand the environmental potential of our work.

2026 promises to be an exciting and productive year. First and foremost, our demonstration sites in Norway and Åland will be up and running this spring, giving us the opportunity to demonstrate sludge collection using different constellations of technologies, at different scales, and in different environmental conditions. With this key milestone approaching, partners will be honing in on their innovation, scientific monitoring, impact assessment, policy development and communications activities across all work packages.
