WELCOME

Welcome to the first AQUAPHOENIX newsletter.

One of the most exciting parts of AQUAPHOENIX is collaborating with engaged and diverse partners. With 19 leading organisations from five nations, our team unites experts across research, industry, technology, and policy to drive real solutions in aquaculture: advancing circularity, protecting the environment, and enabling sustainable growth.

In January, we officially kicked off in Hardangerfjord, Norway, visiting local fish farms where industry partners are already testing groundbreaking technologies to collect aquaculture waste — known as sludge — and cut emissions. But sludge isn’t just waste; it holds enormous potential in the circular economy. AQUAPHOENIX is working to transform sludge into renewable resources like clean energy while monitoring environmental impacts and shaping governance frameworks to support adoption.

It’s an ambitious mission, and we’re sharing our progress with the world. Make sure to follow us on LinkedIn and check our website for the latest developments.

Thanks for reading, and keep in touch.
